A reporter on the Eastbourne Chronicle. Morton covers a lot of bombing raids. He is a 'trekker' (a person who sleps out in the country away from cities to avoid the bombs). He is a witness to Howard Paige being outside the Lewes' house on the night of Hunter's murder. Subsequently he is detained in Whitehall to keep him from talking to Foyle until Paige has left the country.
