Proprietor of the village shop in Hailsham. Holmes hs a network of customers who are prepared to buy goods 'under the counter'. He organises the robbery at the Ministry of Food warehouse and recruits Daniel Parker and Matthew Farley to help him. After Matthew Farley dies fromm the gunshot injuries he sustained in the robbery, it is Holmes who suggests that they bury him in the woods near Brookfield Court.
