A deeply unpleasant, wife beating RAF mechanic who seems to have made enemies with half of Hastings. Has a run in with Andrew, who can't stand him. Drake is having a affair with Mrs Wrenn. Very much a ladies man but underneath his rough charm is a very, very unpleasant mean streak. No one is sorry to see him dead and there seems to be a long queue of suspects who would have cheerfully bumped him off.
