The ambitious and flirty daughter of Stan and Mary Davies. Barmaid at the Wheatsheaf Public House and fiancée of Ben Barrett, she used to work at Bensons Chemical Works in Bexhill but left to broaden her horizons. In collusion with Alan Carter, she manufactures alcohol from an illicit still at the Wheatsheaf and sells the spirit on the black market to supplement her income. The arrival of the 'Dough Boys' leads to her into an affair with James Taylor by whom she becomes pregnant with the intent of trapping him into marriage. She is determined to leave the area and move to the fleshpots of America. When her body is discovered at the 'Big Howdy' dance, there is a long list of suspects who have a vested interest in her demise.
